BIG News Flash – BIG Going Green!

Peru, Ma. – 1 July 2010

After digging out from the BIG winter blizzard the gallery decided to cash in on some government grants and tax incentives and decided to go green.  A 5kw solar photovoltaic array was designed by Pioneer Valley PhotoVoltaics Cooperative over the winter.  Installation was completed just last week.  The ground breaking was sparsely attended due to poor weather, fortunately the operator was well sheltered.  Once the foundations had cured the construction went quickly despite the continued threat of rain.

Of course now that construction is done the curator is considering options to add insulator related decorations.  There are also thoughts of a contest to create an acronym to properly integrate the array with the rest of BIG.
